Abstract
Diagnostic radiology is adopting more and more digital technology. We have conceived a plan for structured growth in the use of this technology in our department, and outline in this paper the large scale architecture of a seed digital image processing facility, and its anticipated evolution over the next few years. In addition, we outline the requirements and discuss our problems, solutions, and future directions.
