Abstract
This paper presents the concept of a fast-frame-processor for on-line analysis of fringe patterns which allows the recording of phase-shifted fringe patterns and the successive analysis of the image data by the phase shift algorithm in video real-time. Examples will demonstrate the use of fast-fringe-analysis for holography, speckle technique, moire-and 3D-measuring techniques. Additionally it points out the fast-frame-processor's ability of carrying out nearly all operations needed for the prepro-cessing of images in video-real-time; e.g. filter-operations, contrast enhancement, background correction, averaging and so on. In particular, this system enables true color image processing and color classification in video-real-time.
