Abstract
We study the length propagation characteristic of plasmonic waveguides employing metamaterials by means of numerical approach. The analyzed structures are made of metallic nanowires in a dielectric host or metal and dielectric thin layers claddings, surrounding a dielectric core. The main parameter to be computed is the length propagation as a function of the light excitation wavelength, waveguide core dimensions, metal filling ratio or the effective index of the composite claddings. These structures are intended to exhibit low loss propagation guided modes from visible light to optical communication infrared radiation.
