Abstract
We discuss the importance of permutation symmetry on coincidence rates at interferometer outputs, how permutations naturally lead partition the many-photon space, and how permutation symmetry reveals the connection between partial distinguishability, matrix immanants and the complexity of the coincidence landscape.
