Abstract
A simple scheme for nonlinear refractive index measurement via FROG reconstruction is presented. Samples are measured in weakly focused beam of uJ-level 200 fs pulses. Computing intensity profile and temporal phase for a situation with and without the sample in the beam path yields SPM-induced phase contribution. Through fitting of that phase to intensity profile, n2 of a measured material can be directly calculated. Different optical materials have been measured (fused silica, calcite, YVO4, BiBO, YAG, CaF2) and are shown to agree well with literature.
