Abstract
A methodology is presented and algorithms designed which estimate the total intensity from sources which are extended relative to a sensor detector element. For the methodology described, algorithm processing is invariant to source size and shape. Processing of the sensor signals in the frequency domain is shown to be straightforward and designed to handle both AC and DC coupled electronics. Algorithm design is based upon processing the time axis central slice of the 2-D Fourier Transform of thresholded detector samples.
