Abstract
Ballasted track is mostly used in the track structure of heavy haul railway in the main line section, but with the increase of traffic intensity, the dynamic load increases, resulting in the damage of rail structure. Due to the strong role of wheel and rail in small radius curve section, rail corrugation not only appears early, but also develops rapidly, which affects the safety of train operation. At present, rail grinding is the main method to eliminate the corrugation of heavy haul railway. In this paper, the small radius curve section of Shen-shuo heavy haul railway is tested on site to obtain the typical corrugation characteristics and the mechanical response of the track structure. The power spectral density analysis of the test data is carried out to analyze the change law of corrugation before and after the corrugation. At the same time, the multi-body dynamics software is used to establish the vehicle track coupling dynamics model, and the cause of the rail corrugation in the small radius curve section of heavy haul railway is analyzed. The results show that the corrugation length of the rail in the test section is about 200 mm, and the grinding can change the original natural frequency of the rail, so as to inhibit the generation and development of the corrugation in the small radius curve section of the heavy haul railway.
