Abstract
In this paper, using the elastic foundation beam algorithm, the calculation method of internal force of side span of longspan suspension bridge considering self weight is proposed, and the calculation method of side cable sag is also proposed. The internal force calculation method proposed in this paper is simple and fast. This method can check each other with the bridge software calculation method. Nowadays, there is no recognized calculation method of side cable sag in the world, and most of the side cable sag of built bridges are unreasonable values. In this paper, the engineering example of Kanmonkyo Bridge in Japan is taken. The comparative calculation shows that the side cable sag calculation method proposed in this paper is very reasonable, and the bridge designed by this method is safer and more economical.
