Abstract
The trumpet interchange is a popular design scheme of the three-limb interchange. The basic form of the ramp is to arrange the ring ramp on the outside of the main line relative to the interchange centralized entrance. In here it is called an external trumpet interchange. If the loop ramp is arranged on the inner side, an internal trumpet interchange type will be formed. This type of interchange has little requirement of land for the outside of the main line, so it can adapt to the larger restrictions on the outside of the main line. As the traditional external type, the internal trumpet only needs a crossover bridge, which is very economical. Since the internal ring ramp is far from the nose of the main line entrance and exit of the freeway, the vehicle has a long enough deceleration distance and good safety. It can be used as an alternative to the traditional external Type-B trumpet interchange type. Similar to the traditional external double trumpets, it can also be combined into an internal double trumpets interchange, and it can also be constructed into a no weaved double trumpet interchange, requiring only two flyover bridges. Compared with other three-limb interchange patterns such as Y-type, Ttype, and diamond, it is also unique. After comparative analysis, the internal trumpet interchange has certain practicability and can be used as a supplementary type of the three-limb interchange.
