Abstract
The main monitoring methods of tunnel structural deformation at present are laser ranging, optical fiber grating, photographic, total station, static leveling, etc. Compared with traditional monitoring methods, MEMS sensor has the advantages of smaller size, lower cost, lower energy cost, and higher precision. Nevertheless, previous studies on MEMS sensors are mainly focused on bridges, slopes, and other projects, being lack of applications in tunnel deformation monitoring. In this paper, the MEMS sensor is used for continuous real-time intelligent monitoring of the model tunnel and multi-point control monitoring of the tunnel structure. The monitoring indexes are acceleration and inclination angle. By analyzing the changes of monitoring indexes in the entire process of tunnel deformation, the motion of each part of the tunnel during deformation is inferred. Through the comparison and discussion of several groups of experiments, the feasibility of MEMS sensors for deformation detection in the test environment is summarized. The abnormal deformation of the tunnel can be successfully captured by the change of the acceleration and inclination angle monitored by the MEMS sensors. The absolute deformation of the tunnel can be well obtained by the inclination angle not the acceleration.
