Abstract

A great deal of dust is produced in the process of coal drawing at the working face. Efficient atomizing and dust removal device is the key to effective dust reduction at the working face. Because of the defects of poor atomization effect and easy blockage of the traditional atomizing nozzle in the fully mechanized top coal caving face, propose a highly efficient atomizing nozzle structure, based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the outlet diameter and inner diameter of swirl core of a new swirl core nozzle were simulated. The simulation results show that under the same inlet pressure, when the nozzle outlet diameter is 1.5 mm, the outlet velocity is the largest and the atomization effect is the best; Properly reducing the inner diameter of swirl core can enhance the swirl intensity, increase the dust collection area and improve the dust reduction effect.
