Abstract
A series of CaLu2Mg2Si3O12:Ce3+ (CLMS: Ce3+) phosphors with different NaCl contents as fluxes were successfully prepared by high temperature solid phase reactions. Measurements were carried out using x-ray powder diffraction to determine the formation of the physical phases. The CLMS: Ce3+ photoluminescence spectrum reveals a trend of increasing and then decreasing luminescence intensity with increasing content of NaCl. The optimum addition amount is 6 wt%. The fluorescence decay lifetime also decreases with the addition of NaCl. The LED device, which 6 wt% NaCl added, is compared with the device without NaCl, and NaCl shifts the CIE coordinate to the red light region. The study shows that CLMS: Ce3+ phosphors with NaCl addition can achieve warm WLEDs in blue chips.
