Abstract
The tilt system is the key part of the converter steelmaking, its function is to ensure the furnace can stop at any Angle. Due to the problem of excessive gear engagement gap between frequent starting and braking and positive and negative transfer, the impact force of the transmission parts is too large. This paper evaluates the dynamic impact on the transmission system. According to the center distance between the two gears, the gear engagement gap is 0.548mmto1.083mm. Comparing the simulation of several different gear engagement gap values by ADAMS software, we shows that the contact force of the small gear and the engagement force of the gear engagement gap is proportional to the added value of the gear contact force. When the engagement gap exceeds 1.083mm, the contact force changes more significantly or even by an order of magnitude.
