Abstract
Using mobile communication data, this study focuses on Chongqing to identify the characteristics of residential and employment distribution within the city. The results reveal that the spatial distribution of residential and employment activities in Chongqing tends to be consistent, with a general pattern of high density in the western region and low density in the eastern region. The main urban area, located in the southwest, serves as the core population aggregation zone, with a gradual decrease in population density in the surrounding areas. The traditional multi-center model in the main urban area has undergone a transformation, with the various centers exhibiting an aggregating trend.
