Abstract
Composite media are widely used in aeronautics, aerospace and electronics. We intended to make a modeling of their microwave properties. An overview of main effective theories is proposed, associated with comparison between theoretical and experimental results. This leads to determine limits of these models used for composite media. Several experimental data show the influence of the size distribution of the particles, probably due to a more complex interaction between the resin matrix and the embedded indusion. To describe this, we propose to make use of extended Sthvola's particle multilayered model.
