Abstract
In tunnel construction sites, it is necessary to develop a system for comparing field data with design data to ensure the safety of workers and improve the efficiency of work. In matching point cloud data obtained with a ToF camera with design data, a method of stepwise down sampling is proposed, and the two-step matching method was proposed by using the NDT and ICP methods continuously. The acquired data were matched by the proposed method in a simulated tunnel site in a corridor. Experimental evaluation was carried out in terms of both superposition ratio and root mean square error. The experimental results showed that the two-step matching methods gave better results than the experimental results using the ICP and NDT methods used alone.
