Abstract
With the rapid development of cloud computing technology, traditional network solutions have struggled to meet the demands of large-scale data centers for high performance, high availability, and flexibility. OVN, a subproject of OVS, offers a scalable and efficient virtual networking solution, significantly enhanced the performance and scalability of overlay network through the combination of SDN model and container technology. However, in large-scale SDN network clusters, the most used container orchestration engine Kubernetes is now facing performance bottlenecks. This paper introduces the relevant theories and key technologies of OVN and Kubernetes, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of existing open-source community SDN scheme, and proposes a novel network architecture based on an improved Kube-OVN. By optimizing subnet partition strategies, flow table generation mechanisms, and alleviating the pressure on centralized controllers, the proposed architecture enhances the performance and reliability of large-scale Kubernetes networks. Finally, the paper validates the effectiveness of the proposed solution on large cloud computing platforms through experiments.
