Abstract
The Adaptive Cruise Control ( ACC ) system is an important driving assistance system, which has the functions of constant speed cruise and car-following cruise. ACC belongs to vehicle longitudinal dynamics control. The realization of its function is mainly based on the safe distance between two vehicles to control the driving state of the vehicle. The size of the safe distance has a direct impact on the driver 's driving experience, the safety of the vehicle and the working strength of the vehicle drive / brake system. Therefore, the safe distance model directly affects the advantages and disadvantages of the entire automobile ACC system. Based on this, this chapter designs the overall architecture and working mode of the vehicle adaptive cruise control system. Through the analysis of the fixed headway algorithm ( CTH ) and variable headway algorithm ( VTH ), an improved safe distance algorithm based on CTH algorithm is designed. The algorithm takes into account the driving speed of the vehicle and the relative speed of the front vehicle and the vehicle. The tracking speed and tracking effect of the expected safe distance are better, which provides a guiding route for the design of the automobile ACC system.
