Abstract
While both wavelength and pulse duration are of equal importance in ensuring selective and specific localization of injury to vascular tissues, it is increasingly apparent that pulse duration is the more dominant factor in determining clearance of hyperpigmented skin. This paper examines how different pulse durations stimulated different injury mechanisms; and consequently explains how effective elimination of vascular and pigmentary abnormalities involve vastly varying physical processes that are pulse duration dependent.
