Coaxial resonators have been and are being considered for use in gyrotrons [1], [2]. In this paper, the coupling coefficients between modes in a coaxial waveguide with varying-radius center and outer conductors are discussed. A 60 GHz TE02 - TE01 coaxial waveguide mode converter with a varying-radius center conductor and with a 99.7% mode purity has been designed.
