Based on the analysis of the asymmetrical twin-aperture iris coupling in the rectangular waveguide, waveguide bandpass filters with such coupling irises have been studied. Compared with its single-aperture iris counterpart, the use of the presented iris structure results in a higher attenuation in the filter stopband.
