Abstract
There is an ongoing program at the FOM institute, TheNetherlands, to develop a 1-MW, long-pulse, 200-GHz FreeElectron Maser (FEM) using a DC accelerator system withdepressed collector. We present an extrapolation of thisdesign to more than 4 MW of output microwave power inorder to reduce the cost per kW and increase the power permodule in a plasma heating system.. A 1 A •
