Abstract
The sharp variation of wiggler entrance regionmagnetic field in result of lowering the electron beamcurrent quality is able fully to be removed by ultilizationof stagged terminal loops with carefully design, themagnetic field profile without any information generated bythis device exactly fits the desirable requirement ofadiabatic change of the field amptitute from zero touniform region value, the axial magnetic field expressionof the entrance region and the fabricating technique of thedevice have been presented in the paper, the experimentmeasurement results show a good agreement with numericalsimulation and provide a verification for rationality ofthe design techique. For another possible application, thebifilar helical wiggler with stagged loops will be expectedto operate in experiment of variable parameter FEL.
