Abstract
Various experimental techniques are in use at present time toinvestigate electromagnetic properties of high temperaturesuperconductors (HTS). Usually, integral measurements of a surfaceimpedance or related characteristics are being made. Non-resonancemethods are based on the measurements of electromagnetic wave transitionthrough the HTS sample. This technique requires very sensitive equipmentunless the samples are very thin, approximately, no more than 100 nm.Resonance methods are more precise hut technologically sophisticated andexpensive. Specific difficulties occur when measurements are to be madein a millimeter wave (MMW) band due to small dimensions of resonators andsamples.
