Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of channel modelling for the simulation of radio communication sub-systems. A statistical test for stationarity is first applied on measured impulse responses of an urban channel. This test reveals non-stationary trends in the channel. A new model is then proposed which takes into account the channel non-stationarity. It is based on statistical modelling of the variations of an existing stationary model when moving through areas where local stationarity can be assumed.
