Abstract
For the first time, the spectral intensity distribution of the transmitted light of a F-P interferometer is derived considering the coherence length of the incident in this paper. The equations derived in this paper show that the transmitted light has the same spectral intensity distribution as the incident laser expressed. The frequency response of the F-P is different to the incident laser with different temporal coherence. The numerical calculations show that the minimum resolvable bandwidth of the F-P is always larger than the linewidth of the incident.
