Abstract
One of the major obstacles facing developers of parallel image processing applications is the lack of efficient programming environments. In this paper, we describe the environment currently under development for supporting image algebra operations on a fine grained, massively parallel processor, the PAL. A graphical design tool is described as are some issues that arise in retargeting a C++ library for image algebra to the PAL.
