Abstract
Time-frequency analysis is particularly useful for non- stationary signals, such as radar, seismic, speech, biomedical signals, and machine condition monitoring. However, most time-frequency analyses are non-parametric and its resolution limited by the number of samples. We introduce model-based time-frequency analysis. Its frequency resolution is not limited by the number of samples in the data set, thus, super-high frequency resolution can be achieved. It also has unlimited zooming capability, which will be of benefit to the extraction of detailed time- frequency features of signals for automatic target recognition.
