Abstract
The photorefractive effect of liquid crystalline polymers doped with photoconductive compound was investigated and compared to those of amorphous polymers. The photorefractive diffraction efficiency of the isotopic phase of liquid crystalline polymers was found to be larger than those of amorphous polymers with similar molecular structures. The diffraction efficiency of the isotropic phase of liquid crystalline polymers do not come from the pretransitional effect.
