Abstract

As a ubiquitous intracellular signal, calcium is responsible for controlling numerous cellular processes, such as neuronal signal transmission. In this paper we show that calcium imaging of cultured neuronal network from hippocampus of newborn rats, revealed synchronized calcium wave in intracellular Ca²⁺concentration and induced calcium oscillation by stimulating embedded-microelectrode on glass substrate.
