Abstract
A numerical model of rate equations for a four level solid state laser with Cr4+:YAG Saturable absorber including excited state absorption ESA is presented. Simultaneous mode-locked and Q-switched pulses are obtained by the solution of this model. The pulse width is estimated to be 100 ps.
