Abstract
In this paper we present the work performed by AlphaMicron in the area of Adaptive Window application using a guest-host liquid crystal configuration combined with liquid crystal based solar concentrator and high efficiency photovoltae. The system can be used for Zero-Energy Building applications by providing a dynamic solar heat gain coefficient. This allows the reduction of the energy loss through windows in mixed climate regions.
