Abstract
Zero Touch photonic solutions require a carefully designed control plane to cope with physical impairments and the need for 3R regeneration. GMPLS providing the flexibility to add regeneration where needed, extends the reach of WDM network domains beyond the physical limits of pure wavelength switching.
