Abstract
We introduce solution for linear-polarized guided modes propagating over weakly guiding optical fiber with an arbitrary refractive index profile. Proposed solution is based on well known Gaussian approximation and stratification method. A several samples of fiber profiles were considered to compare results which have been estimated by proposed method and finite element method. A good accuracy was noticed that submit correctness of introduced solution.
