Abstract

Submillimeter-wave generation through optical difference frequency mixing technique in lithium niobate (LiNbO₃) is discussed. Theoretical aspects as applicable in this connection are briefly considered. The possibility of utilizing frequencies within the spectral spread of solid state laser output for mixing purposes is reported.
