1 August 2001 Speckle photography and the fractional Fourier transform

The fractional Fourier transform (FRT) is used in the analysis of surface motion in combination with the speckle photography technique. It is demonstrated experimentally that the extra degree of freedom made available by the use of an optical implementation of the FRT allows controlled variation of both the minimum resolution and dynamical range of measurement of tilting (rotational) motion.
