Isaac R. Rodriguez-Chavez, Ph.D., M.S., M.H.S. is the Director of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, AIDS and Immunosuppression Program, which focuses on advancing basic, translational and clinical research on oral health linked to HIV/AIDS, including infectious (i.e., virus, bacteria and fungi) and non-infectious (e.g., inflammation, cancer, immune activation and immune reconstitution syndrome) comorbidities. Previously, Dr. Rodriguez-Chavez was a Senior Clinical Scientist in Schering-Plough Corporation working on clinical trials of respiratory diseases, and he also was a Program Official and Scientist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases working on HIV vaccines. He has over 15 years of expertise in Virology and Immunology, has published numerous papers and has been an invited speaker in multiple scientific events globally.
