Traditional electronic radars are limited by the "electronic bottleneck", and their operating bandwidth and signal processing speed are difficult to meet the detection needs in complex environments in the future. In recent years, optical phased array systems and photon integration technology have emerged. The core of optical phased arrays is photon phase shifters. With the advantages of electro-optic(EO) effects and photonic integrated circuits, high-precision silicon-based electro-optic phase shifters have developed rapidly. The basic architecture of optical phased array systems and the basic principles of silicon-based EO phase shifters have been introduced firstly . Then, combined with photon integration technology, it focuses on the technological progress and related applications of silicon-based EO phase shifters. The article compares different silicon-based EO phase shifters with different structures. Finally ,looked forward to the future development trend of silicon-based EO phase shifters.
