Profile Summary

For more than 16years Sergio Goma lead the multimedia R&D/standardization group for imaging at Qualcomm in San Diego, driving Qualcomm’s vision on future imaging technologies. His research interests include computer architecture, high-performance computing for real time, computational photography and programmable hardware architectures. Before Qualcomm, Sergio developed the image processing solution present in AMD’s Imageon series of chips. He received his Ph.D. in reliability and fault tolerance of computers in 1998 and holds several US patents on image processing algorithms and architectures. Sergio is a IEEE Fellow and is serving the image processing community on several review boards.
