As streak tube imaging is a concentric spherical electrostatic focusing system, geometric distortion is caused by the relative change in radial magnification. This reduces the spatial resolution of imaging. The physical principle of changing the radial magnification of an electronic optical imaging system is analyzed to correct the geometric distortion of the imaging system and to improve spatial resolution. Distortion is corrected using the calibration model of a spherical optical system. The contrast of a reticle intensity image is compared before and after correction, and the ultimate resolution is calculated. Contrast is increased by ∼4 % , and the ultimate resolution is increased by ∼2 lp / mm after correction.
