Caitríona is IPIC’s Education and Public Engagement Officer. Her responsibilities include delivering an interactive and engaging educational and public engagement programme through public festivals, school interactions and talks/tours nationally and internationally. In addition to this, Caitríona’s role allows her to support IPIC personnel and help develop their skills in science communication and engagement. She works closely with internal and external partners to deliver a high-quality EPE programme for IPIC.
Caitriona holds a PhD from Imperial College London in cancer research. Over the course of her PhD studies Caitríona represented Cancer Research UK as a research engagement scientist and developed an interest in science communication. Of particular interest was developing techniques to translate her research and her colleagues’ research into exciting and engaging content.
