Proof of Concept was formed in 2013 to meet industry demands for on-demand optical support. The company is owned and managed by Donna Waters, who personally handles most design projects. Donna has designed optics for a wide spectrum of devices, including virtual reality headsets, augmented reality glasses, picoprojectors, 3-D printers, fiber optic systems, lenslet arrays, thermal imagers, telescopes, compact cameras, and spectrometers. She holds an MS Physics from UC Santa Cruz and an MS Optics from the University of Central Florida (CREOL). She worked as an optical engineer for a decade before becoming a full-time optical consultant. Over the decade prior to that, she worked as an R&D scientist in photovoltaics, photoelectrochemistry, and ultrafast laser spectroscopy.
