Jean-Michel Melkonian has a degree in engineering from Institut d’Optique in 2004 and a Ph.D. in physics in 2007 from Ecole Polytechnique. He is working at Onera – The French Aerospace Lab, on optical sensing of hazardous and greenhouses gases, for space, defense, and civilian applications. His current research interests include photoacoustics and laser infrared absorption spectroscopy, using classical beams or twin photon generators, remote sensing using lidars, and the development of mid infrared laser and optical parametric sources.
