Puneet Chhabra was born Kanpur, India in 1985. He has a Bachelor of Science in AI and Robotics from MIIT, India in 2006 and an Erasmus Mundus Joint MS in Computer Vision and Robotics from Heriot-Watt University, UK, University of Girona, Spain and University of Burgundy, France in 2009.
He then joined BAE Systems, UK as a research Scientist in 2009 and left BAE Systems as a Higher Scientist in 2013. His area of research is in signal processing, uncertainty modelling, Bayesian inference and LiDAR applications to remote sensing and Defence applications. He is a joint PhD Candidate (Expecting 2017) with University Defence Research Collaboration (UDRC) under Heriot-Watt University and University of Edinburgh.
Mr. Chhabra is a student member of SPIE. While at BAE Systems he has received an Innovation award for his work on ‘Terrain Perception and roll-over safety’ and holds a patent in ‘Video Change Detection’ applied to images captured from a moving platform.
