Profile Summary

For more than 15 years, Wieland Hill has been leading R&D departments in distributed fibre-optic sensing. He received the Diploma degree in physics from HU Berlin and the Ph.D. in surface science from Academy of Sciences, Berlin. He has long-term experience in academic research on laser spectroscopy as well as in the industrial development of lasers, micro-optics and instruments for fibre-optic sensing. His current activities include distributed temperature and strain sensing as well as thermal rating of power cables.
